FixHax Growth to Cut Millions of Pounds of e-waste

Tech startup expands nationwide to rescue more gadgets

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, November 28, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This week, FixHax LLC, a technical service company specializing in smart electronics repair, announced plans to expand its operations nationwide and broaden the array of the devices it supports. The projected strategy is expected to eliminate several million pounds of electronic waste, save up to one billion dollars in semiconductor-technology reproduction costs, and add hundreds of jobs and contracting opportunities by the end of 2021.

FixHax is an e-repair provider based in San Francisco, CA, dedicated to connecting technology consumers with eco-friendly on-demand repair service provided by a network of more than 500 experienced technicians using high-quality replacement parts.

The on-demand tech support firm is on a mission to reduce electronic toxins by focusing on the rescue of broken smart gadgets in densely populated areas and major cities nationwide.

"Our belief is that technology should not harm our environment but that the two should go hand in hand.", the founding team announced in a press release.

"By 2020 there will be more than 22 billion connected smart gadgets worldwide, triple the number of our planet's population. A huge amount of the electronic waste is going to be produced by the breakage of such a massive number of electronic devices. The phenomena will have an ongoing negative impact on the environment, this is how we got inspired and decided to rescue e-gadgets and save our plant.", the announcement read.

The company's idea came to life in September 2017 through its founders, Abir MJ, a computer engineer, and Khalid WK, a data scientist. Both hold a bachelor's degree from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. The credits are equivalent to US bachelor's degrees in the same fields from accredited institutions.

"In a world with an average household of 50 connected smart devices, there is a growing need for immediate solutions to extend the life cycle of smart technology," said Khalid WK, CEO and co-founder at FixHax. "Our expansion strategy leads to the elimination of a substantial amount of e-waste and thus positively impacts the environmental health."

The IT support firm presents a platform in which consumers can be matched to repair experts who then can travel and fix broken electronics at any place selected by the purchaser.

"By offering a peer-to-peer technical support marketplace in a real-time environment we are able to serve more areas and cities," said Abir MJ, co-founder and President of FixHax. "The consumers are no longer required to go to a repair shop to get their broken technology fixed. In our business model the shop is movable, its location defined as a variable value in our algorithm, it is the Uber of the e-repair."

The company's founders believe that their business sustainability and probability will be an outcome of customer-satisfaction, which can be achieved by providing professional workmanship and high-quality parts. The company adopted a profit-share strategy, in which a big portion of the business revenues go to the workforce.

FixHax is working with fortune 500 companies to provide the best experience for technology consumers and is now covering 101 cities in the United States. There is no word yet as to when the countrywide coverage will start.
