Spend Management Experts Publish Their Predictions for 2019

Continuing the consultancy's annual tradition, Source One's Procurement experts reflect on the last twelve months and set their sights on the year ahead.

Among the challenges addressed in the new whitepaper is Procurement's ever-widening talent gap. While Source One addressed the skills shortage in broad terms last year, they take a more targeted approach this time. Procurement teams, they suggest, are lacking when it comes to Cyber Security and Data Science skills. They expect organizations will move to close these gaps by creating new positions, reconfiguring their training programs, and searching for talent in unexpected places.

Source One, a recent winner of Supply and Demand Chain Executive's Green Supply Chain Award, also expects the Procurement function to redouble its efforts to promote sustainability. "The move toward more sustainable business practices is nothing new," remarks VP of Operations William Dorn.
