A senior research fellow by the University Grants Commission from 1975 to 1978, Dr. Singh also received a junior research fellow through the Council of Science and Industrial Research from 1971 to 1973 and the Department of Atomic Energy from 1973 to 1975. The recipient of several awards, Dr. Singh received an Outstanding Researcher Award from SUNY Fredonia in 2007. The honor was based on outstanding research work in the field of non-statistical fluctuations of emerged hadrons at CERN energies and their computer simulations using Monte Carlo techniques. He was also acknowledged with a President's and Dean's Service Pin for his 10 years of Plateau Service at SUNY at Fredonia and the University at Buffalo, respectively. He has notably been cited in the 56th edition of Who's Who in American and the 18th edition of Who's Who in the World.

Born and raised in Nangal Kalan, Punjab, a small village in India, Dr. Singh discovered that he could read something one time and memorize its entire content. Lucky to be the very first person in his family to attend college, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in physics, chemistry and mathematics, with honors, Master of Science, with honors, and Doctor of Philosophy in nuclear physics and astrophysics from Panjab University in Chandigarh, India, between 1970 and 1979. He later became certified to teach online courses through Step-by-Step, MAGNA, in 2009.
