Now retired as a human resources professional, Ms. Gay excelled for the last nine years of her career as the director of human resources for Cablevision in Hudson, MA. Retiring in 1996 after more than 20 years in the field, she also served as a recruiter for Zayre Corporation in Framingham, MA and as a senior human resources representative for Wang Laboratories, Inc. in Lowell, MA. Prior to her tenure in human resources, Ms. Gay worked for the Raytheon Company in Andover, MA as an assistant manager between 1974 and 1980.
Attributing her success in her chosen field to being known as both a good listener and a problem solver, Ms. Gay is renowned for her ability to create solutions that work for both companies and employees alike. Throughout her career, she was very active with a number of organizations that helped shape her career, including the Northeast Human Resource Association and the Minority Human Resource Association. Ms. Gay is also a member and the former secretary of the Boston chapter of the Women in Cable as well as the past president and the treasurer of her local Parent Teacher Association.
Moreover, Ms. Gay was responsible for establishing the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund Education Program for Massachusetts high school students in grades 11 and 12 after her husband, Peter A. Gay, was murdered on September 11, 2001, on American Airlines Flight 11. Ms. Gay was appointed to the board from 2005 to 2016. Notably, Ms. Gay was the very first family member to be voted onto the board.
The proud mother of one daughter, Ms. Gay currently lives in Tewksbury, MA. Enjoying her retirement, she loves to scuba dive and sail in her spare time. Enrolled at Fitchburg State College from 1975 to 1976, she has found success as a volunteer with the Tewksbury Senior Center and an administrator leader trainee for the Girl Scouts of America. Additionally, Ms. Gay has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
