Dr. Malaspina is an award-winning soft drink executive who brings with him more than six decades of professional excellence. He came to prominence in a number of noteworthy roles. Dr. Malaspina was a senior vice president of the Coca-Cola Company, vice president of the Coca-Cola Export Corporation and coordinator of new products for Pfizer Inc. He was the founding president of the International Life Sciences Institute, the vice president of the Toxicology Forum in Washington, DC, and president of the International Technical Caramel Association. Dr. Malaspina was also vice president of the British Industrial Biological Research Association, based in London.

Dr. Malaspina feels that his career has been a journey that began in childhood. He was born in Athens, Greece, and grew up during World War II. He strived to move to the United States and did so in 1948 to live with his Aunt Nelly's, a famous Greek photographer. To support his career, Dr. Malaspina attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1952 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1955. In 1996 he received an Honorary Doctor's degree from the University of Salvador in Argentina. Dr. Malaspina continued to develop his skill set through his memberships with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Institute of Chemists, the Institute of Food Technologists and the American Chemical Society. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of The Forsyth Institute, Cambridge, MA and was also on the Board of Overseers for the Tufts School of Medicine.

In recognition of his accomplishments, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam granted Dr. Malaspina an Award in People's Health in 2006 and in 1998 the Royal Academy of Medicine of Cadiz, Spain granted him a Foreign Correspondent Award. Dr. Malaspina also received the International Award from the Institute of Food Technologists in 1994 and The Toxicology Award from the International Society of Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology (ISRTP) in 1992.

When asked of his success, Dr. Malaspina credits the support and encouragement of his family. His greatest inspiration comes from his father, Spiros Malaspina, who was a member of Parliament in Greece, Minister of Health and Welfare, and later the Chairman of the Red Cross hospital. His wife, Doris Malaspina, is a teacher with an advanced degree from Harvard University. Dr. Malaspina is proud of his children, who are all highly accomplished and dedicated to helping the world through their own professional endeavors.
