EAST MORICHES, NY, March 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Michael John Creutz, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Creutz celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In 1966, Dr. Creutz earned a Bachelor of Science from the California Institute of Technology, following this accomplishment with a Doctor of Philosophy in theoretical particle physics from Stanford University in 1970. After starting out as a fellow at the University of Maryland's Center for Theoretical Physics in 1970, he went on to work as an assistant physicist at Brookhaven National Laboratory from 1972 to 1974. Demonstrating impressive focus on his field, he progressed to associate physicist in 1974, physicist in 1976 and senior physicist in 1984. Dr. Creutz retired in 2014, having earned the title of senior physicist emeritus.

In addition to his work with Brookhaven National Laboratory, Dr. Creutz served on the High Energy Physics advisory panel for the Department of Energy in Washington, DC, from 1984 to 1988. He also worked on the program advisory panel for the Division of Advanced Science Computing for the National Science Foundation from 1987 to 1989. A published writer in the field of physics, Dr. Creutz wrote "Quarks, Gluons, and Lattices" in 1983 and "From Quarks to Pions: Chiral Symmetry and Confinement" in 2018. He has also contributed to numerous journals in his field, and is notable for his paper "Monte Carlo Study of Quantized SU(2) Gauge Theory," which revolutionized perspectives on quantized physics.

Influenced by his father, who was also a physicist, Dr. Creutz decided to pursue a career in physics at a young age. Now a celebrated professional in his industry, he has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Humboldt Research Award in 2009, the Gian Carlo Wick Gold Medal in 2008 and the Aneesur Rahman Prize in 2000. Dr. Creutz is currently a fellow of the American Physical Society, for which he has served as chairman of the division of computational physics and member of the executive committee division on particles and fields. He has been honored in several editions of Who's Who in America, as well as the first edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and the 24th edition of Who's Who in the East.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Creutz has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
