SALT LAKE CITY, UT, March 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Utah's Hogle Zoo is one of the most‐visited attractions in Utah. The zoo offers an opportunity for members of the public to connect with the natural world to increase their understanding of, and responsibility for, local and global animal species and ecosystems.

To further help the zoo achieve its mission, the Alsco Steiner Foundation has donated $2,000 to the Hogle Zoo Education Department. The financial donation received from Alsco Salt Lake City will be used by the zoo to provide more opportunities for roughly 2,000 students in the Salt Lake City area to attend camps offered by the zoo throughout the year.

"The Hogle Zoo is a pillar in our community and has a lot to teach our youth about animal science and conservation," says Greg Barton, general manager for the Salt Lake City Alsco Branch. "We're happy to be able to support their efforts to extend their educational outreach further."

Opened in 1931, Hogle Zoo covers 42 acres and is home to over 800 animals. Educational opportunities provide a safe and fun environment for Utah's children to learn more about numerous animal species and the need for wildlife conservation locally and globally.

"Utah's Hogle Zoo is thrilled to receive this donation from Alsco. The generosity of Alsco will allow us to provide even better programming for our camps and classes," says Hogle Zoo's Director of Education Christine Schmitz.

The zoo not only runs summer and school‐break camps for kids but also has educational programs available to schools, teachers and the broader community.
