Jeffrey Grove Honored as a Physician and Broadway Producer

Dr. Grove has invested in one off-Broadway show and two Broadway productions

Dr. Jeffrey Grove has built a wildly successful, and unique, career in the fields he's most passionate about.

LARGO, FL, April 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeffrey Grove has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a family practice physician affiliated with multiple hospitals, former medical director, osteopathology expert, and Tony-winning Broadway producer, Dr. Jeffrey Grove has built a wildly successful, and unique, career in the fields he's most passionate about.

Growing up in Paxton, Illinois, Dr. Grove was raised in a family of physicians — his grandfather, father, and uncle all practiced osteopathic medicine, and so naturally, he knew as a child he wanted to follow in their footsteps and become a doctor. As he entered high school, he also became an avid appreciator of Broadway musicals, sparked by an electrifying production of "Oklahoma!" he saw in Chicago.

Dr. Grove earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Florida Southern College in 1986, and then a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, in North Miami Beach, in 1990. He always knew he wanted to work in family medicine, so after he finished medical school, he completed an internship and family practice residency at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, now Suncoast Family Associates, from 1990 to 1993, knowing that was where he belonged. It was also where his father, Ronald Grove, practiced for the majority of his career, so Dr. Grove was able to work alongside his father for a few years when he joined full-time in 1993. He considered it a "great and rewarding" experience practicing with his father until the latter retired. He is certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, and board-certified in family practice and geriatrics.

He has worn lots of hats throughout his nearly 30 years in the medical field. Outside of his family practice, Dr. Grove has served as the medical director of Barrington Properties and Oak Manor Nursing Center in Largo, Drew Village Nursing Center in Clearwater, Florida, and Highland Pines Nursing Center in Texas. Since 1994, he has brought his expertise of family medicine to his alma mater, Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, as first a clinical assistant professor, then clinical associate professor, and now clinical professor. He has also been teaching at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine since 1993. He has been involved in several organizations throughout his career, including the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association; the American Osteopathic Association; the American Osteopathic Foundation; the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society; and the SCH Foundation, for which he received the Distinguished Trustee Award in 2000. He was the youngest person ever to be elected to the National American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Board of Governors in 2014, and served as the 60th president of the American College Osteopathic Family Practitioners from 2013 to 2014, as well as vice president from 2011 to 2012. Dr. Grove considers this experience a highlight in his career.

When he isn't wearing a white smock and setting broken bones, Dr. Grove is producing exciting new Broadway shows, a second career that began in 2012. He was in New York seeing a production of the popular musical "How to Succeed in Show Business Without Really Trying," when his old medical school roommate, a co-producer of the show, urged him to get involved. As a big musical theater fan, it didn't take much persuasion to get Dr. Grove on board. He became a managing partner at Witzend Productions, and has invested his own money in an off-Broadway show and two Broadway productions, one of which is called "Once on This Island," which was nominated for eight Tonys during the 2018 ceremony and won Best Revival of a Musical. The album for the show is also nominated for a Grammy in 2019. He plans on continuing in this newfound passion.

Reflecting on his life in medicine and theater, Dr. Grove said that both aspects were incredibly "healing."

Dr. Grove has experienced a career filled with exciting accomplishments, passionate projects, and determination, and he leaves behind a legacy of academic and professional achievement, and working hard to make one's dreams come true. He hopes that people will view him as someone who made a difference, no matter what he was involved in. He also encourages those who wish to be successful in their chosen fields to always give back, as giving to others and doing the right thing will always bring good things to you.
