Ms. Blessing is an attorney working out of her private practice in Rockledge, PA, who has been representing clients at the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing, LLC since 1999. Specializing in domestic relations law, as well as in wills and trusts, personal injury cases, contract law and bankruptcy. She is experienced in all aspects of family law, including divorce, support, custody, support, protection from abuse, equitable distribution, adoption and guardianship. Working diligently to resolve family disputes, Ms. Blessing and her two fellow attorneys at her firm have been successful in keeping most of their clients out of court, reaching more peaceful settlements as a result. She has also been the founder of Maribeth Blessing, Mediation & Arbitration LLC since 1999 and a founder and an affiliate of the Center for Peaceful Resolution since 2017.

Looking to her future as her career begins to wind down, Ms. Blessing plans to focus more on parent coordination and mediation. Her goal is to become a peacemaker lawyer who will no longer be working in the courts in the next year or so. Ms. Blessing's career history includes serving as the executive director for the Center Family Mediation and Arbitration for three years beginning in 1996. She was also an associate at the Law Offices of Leslee Silverman Tabas in Narbeth, PA, the executive director of the Center for Matrimonial Dispute Resolutions, Inc. from 1996 to 1999, and as an associate attorney at Gold-Bikin, Young & Associates in Norristown, PA, from 1992 to 1996.

During her tenure as a lawyer, Ms. Blessing spent several years as the co-chairman of the Young Lawyers Doctor-Law Project and as a teacher of paralegal students at the Pennsylvania State University, including certification courses for domestic relations. She has contributed numerous articles to legal publications in her area of expertise as well as a chapter in the book "Worry Free Divorce." She is currently active on the mediation advisory panel and as a counselor for the Doris Jona Freed Inn of Court Mediation, a member and the former president of the Collaborative Family Law Affiliates and with several other organizations and committees. Ms. Blessing notably serves as a pro bono attorney for the Legal Aide of Pennsylvania and as an MCAP pro bono attorney in Montgomery County.

Beginning her career as an elementary school teacher at Chinook Elementary School in Anchorage, AK, in 1970, Ms. Blessing continued her career in academia in Pennsylvania, California and Ohio. Traveling across the country with her first husband, who was in the military at the time, she eventually found herself unemployed. Beginning a new job as a hearing officer for the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Office in Norristown, PA, she decided to go back to school to earn a law degree. Ms. Blessing is a longstanding member of such organizations as the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Advanced Practitioner Association of Conflict Resolution, the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators and the Association of Family and Conciliation Court.

The recipient of multiple awards over the years, including a Widener University Alumni Service Award in 2003, the Doris Jonas Freed Inn of Court Appreciation Award for Dedication in 2003 and the Montgomery Bar Family Law Award in 2002, she has also been celebrated in numerous legal publications. She is also an elected fellow and a member of the Montgomery Bar Association and an elected fellow of the American Bar Association. She was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019, accepted a 10 Best Attorney Award for Pennsylvania in 2014-2019, and was recognized as an Expert Network Distinguished Lawyer in 2017. Furthermore, Ms. Blessing has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who of American Women.

Completing a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, magna cum laude, at Kutztown University in 1970, Ms. Blessing later completed some postgraduate coursework at the University of Santa Clara in 1980, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, at Widener University in 1991. She has since been admitted to practice law by the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Associations, the U.S. District Court for the the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of the United States. Moreover, Ms. Blessing has undergone extensive training in advanced mediation, parenting coordination, domestic violence and other areas and has participated in dozens of continued education courses over the past 25 years.
