Survey Shows Over a Third of Regular Cannabis Users Consume Highly Potent Cannabis Concentrates, including Shatter

A national U.S. survey concluded that more than one third of regular cannabis users primarily consume concentrates, shatter being in that category of consumable cannabis products. It has a very high level of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the main active ingredient in marijuana. THC is the ingredient that makes users feel 'high' or relaxed.

Some shatter extracts can have between 80 to 90 per cent of THC purity. This potency has made shatter desirable to users, for both experimental, recreational and medicinal purposes. Users report to use the concentrate to aid with medical situations including sleep problems, anxiety and pain.

The study also concluded that most users choose cannabis concentrates for experimentation, given the high THC potency levels.

Cannabis concentrates like shatter are consumed using vap pens, or e-cigarettes, or rigs. These devices create an instant vapour of the extract, which can then be inhaled by the user.
