TORONTO, ON, May 03, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- An Advanced Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment has brought new hope to aspiring parents who are undergoing IVF. ELITE IVF's signature Hybrid Frozen Embryo program has set a new standard by promising a staggering 50% more viable blastocysts for IVF treatment.
Blastocysts are embryos that have survived in vitro for 5 days — at this stage, there is a greater chance for survival to full-term pregnancy. Typically, the industry standard is to guarantee 1 or 2 blastocysts out of an IVF cycle using donor eggs, whereas ELITE IVF's method ensures a minimum of 4 blastocysts. These results can be a game-changer for aspiring parents who have to endure several rounds of IVF in pursuit of having a child.
"Our Hybrid Frozen Embryo program can help patients who require donor eggs have the best chance of conceiving," says David Sher, President and CEO of ELITE IVF. "We are the only fertility agency in North America that guarantees at least 4 blastocysts, thereby improving pregnancy rates for future parents."
The program is specific to patients requiring eggs from a donor. The common practice today is for donor eggs to be retrieved and vitrified (frozen) and then delivered to the recipient's fertility clinic, where they are thawed, fertilized with sperm and prepared for implantation.
In contrast, ELITE IVF's Hybrid Frozen Embryo program first fertilizes the fresh eggs with sperm (prior to vitrification). The resulting embryos are frozen on day 5 (the blastocyst stage) and then transported to the patient's fertility clinic for implantation into the uterus. This process improves the quality and number of the embryos created, while saving the patient unnecessary travel and time constraints.
"We are thrilled with the outcomes we've seen from this program," adds Sher. "But we won't stop here. We are dedicated to continue working with the world's leading fertility teams to find new and better ways of treating infertility."
Approximately 1 in 6 couples in Canada experience infertility — a number that has doubled since the 1980s and continues to rise.
