"If we can stop pretending and be real with one another, then we can have some authentic and real relationships, that's a lot of what the book is about."
COLUMBUS, OH, May 12, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michaela is a licensed minister, spoken word artist and best-selling author. Victoria holds a Ph.D. in Mental Health Policy and Practices, the founder of Damsels-Fly, LLC, a ministry for mental health, and a best-selling author. Together, they have written "The Familiar's Lie (The Broken Series Book 1)". This "No Holds Barred" read delves into the emotional, psychological, and sensual struggles of pornography addiction and delivers practical and spiritual revelations that are certain to guide readers who want a changed life to the path of freedom.
"Having experienced childhood sexual abuse and being introduced to pornography by my abusers, it quickly became a secret part of my life that I carried into adulthood. Because it was a taboo subject in the church, as a licensed, female minister I struggled to find an end to my own dark battle beyond the traditional churchy cliché's and nearly non-existent resources for Christian women seeking healing."
In a recent interview with Steve Kidd, the host of Thriving Entrepreneur Radio show, Michaela said, "If we can stop pretending and be real with one another, then we can have some authentic and real relationships, that's a lot of what the book is about." Victoria, who contributed the Bible study portion of the book, said, "The Bible study really talks about being ready, willing, and able to take a stand against this thing [pornography] that's in your life. It definitely speaks to the fact that it is not easy, that it will be a process, that you might take 2 steps forward and 5 steps backward. That's just the process." Victoria added, the one thing she would tell people who are in the struggle would be, "Don't try to do it alone."
