Internationally-acclaimed neuroscientist/researcher Candace Pert, Ph.D. and research colleague Michael Ruff, Ph.D. report on AIDS research now in clinical trials (for human patients) that promises to reduce the spread of AIDS, prolong life, reverse weight loss and offer earlier intervention.

/24-7PressRelease.com/ - Kentfield, California, March 31, 2005 - Internationally recognized pharmacologist and researcher Candace Pert, Ph.D. and colleague Michael Ruff, Ph.D., both of Georgetown University, guest on "Full Power Living," with host Ilene Dillon, M.S.W., on Internet Radio's World Talk Radio, 9 a.m. PST, Tuesday April 5, 2005. They will be discussing their 16 years of AIDS research which has resulted in current clinical trials. Peptide-T, which has proved in the lab to prolong life, alleviate symptoms of HIV and reverse accompanying weight loss, first needs to be proven effective with humans and may be available for treatment within two years of the start of trials.

Candace Pert, Ph.D., author of Molecules of Emotion, has been featured on the Bill Moyers PBS special, "Science and the Mind," and most recently in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know? She and Dr. Ruff are authors of Psychosomatic Wellness, a CD presentation about how to heal your bodymind. She is a Research Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown. Pert discovered the opiate receptor, the cellular bonding site for endorphins, through research done early in her career. She has investigated the relationship between the nervous and immune systems, documenting a communication system in the body involving peptide molecules and their receptors, which she believes is the biochemical basis of emotion.

Michael Ruff, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University, and Dr. Pert's research colleague in the AIDS project. A strong advocate of massage as a healing modality, Dr. Ruff is an immunologist and co-creator of Psychosomatic Wellness. Their research results were revealed in the Journal of Anti-Viral Research.

Drs. Pert and Ruff will discuss their research, the current state of the project, and what the research has revealed about AIDS treatment and the possibility of slowing the spread of HIV. She and Dr. Ruff will also talk about their CD, Psychosomatic Wellness, which presents Bodymind, Wellness and New Paradigm Physiology.
