Rickerl with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Rickerl celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Inspired to become a teacher by her own childhood experiences, Mrs. Rickerl was diagnosed with epilepsy and spent the first 12 years of her life on medication that made her very fatigued. Thanks to her wonderful teachers who tutored and gave her the one-on-one time she needed, she was able to exceed expectations. Once she entered college, Mrs. Rickerl decided to become an educator so that she could pay it forward and help students that also needed extra attention.
In 1983, Mrs. Rickerl earned a Bachelor's degree from Carlow College. Following this accomplishment, she became licensed as a dental assistant by Boyce Community College in 1984. Moreover, Mrs. Rickerl obtained a writing degree from the Institute of Children's Literature in 1991.
Mrs. Rickerl began her career as a teacher at Plugerville School District in Austin, Texas from 1986 to 1987 and at Round Rock School District in Round Rock, Texas from 1987 to 1989. She homeschooled their son from first grade through high school. She has additionally found success as a writer, who has penned stories since 1989. She has notably authored an anthology in 1983 titled "Our Western World's Greatest Poems," as well as "Our Beloved Poets" in 1984 and "Poetic Voices of America" in 1992. Furthermore, Mrs. Rickerl was active as a poetry reader and a volunteer at the Columbus Arts Festival between 2003 and 2006.
Prior to these appointments, Mrs. Rickerl excelled as a receptionist at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh and as a dental assistant and office manager for Dr. William Garver, DDS, also in Pittsburgh. Honored with an Award for Best Poems by the National Library of Poetry in 1996 and 1997, she also accepted several Merit Awards from the World of Poetry between 1983 and 1989, among other awards. Likewise, Mrs. Rickerl has since been featured in several editions of Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of American Women.
