Tahoe Tastings Adds Family-Friendly, Weekend Breakfast Cruises Beginning June 14 through Labor Day

New All Ages Cruise Departs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8 a.m.

LAKE TAHOE, CA, June 12, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tahoe Tastings announced today the addition of family-friendly breakfast cruises beginning June 14 and running through Labor Day Weekend. The special all-ages cruise will depart at 8 a.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and return to the South Lake Tahoe Marina at around 10 a.m. The weekend morning cruise does not include wine tastings since it's specifically designed for all age groups, but mimosas will be offered to guests over 21.

Held aboard the Golden Rose, a beautifully restored 1953 Chris Craft Venetian Water Taxi, Tahoe Tastings is introducing the new 2-hour breakfast cruise in response to requests to offer an all-ages cruise so families can bring children aboard as they experience the beauty of Lake Tahoe. The Golden Rose accommodates individuals, small groups and private parties, comfortably seating up to 16.

The new breakfast cruise will feature a variety of light breakfast foods such as croissants, mini bagels, muffins, scones, danishes, strudels and more, catered by the popular South Lake Tahoe bakery, Crazy Good Bakery. The weekend breakfast cruise also includes freshly brewed coffee from local coffee roaster, Black Cabin Coffee, as well as fresh juices. Mimosa upgrades will be available. Prices are $75 for adults and $50 for children. Kids 3 and under are free.

"We are thrilled to introduce our first family-friendly Tahoe Tastings cruise," said owner Diondra Colquhoun. "Now locals and visitors can bring their kids aboard and experience the incredible views while enjoying a light breakfast aboard the Golden Rose."

In addition to the new breakfast cruise, this summer Tahoe Tastings is also allowing guests to add a wine paired charcuterie platter catered by The Cork and More in South Lake Tahoe. These can be added to any wine cruise booking, pre-ordered in advance and delivered right to the boat. The charcuterie board includes an assortment of cheeses, salami, fresh and dried fruit, olives, jam, and crackers, and can be customized to any size group. Special catering menus are available for private charters.

Guests can also choose to add the giant pink flamingo float to the back of the boat, perfect for Bachelorette parties and other private charters. This popular float can be anchored for floating around and swimming in Tahoe's crystal-clear waters.

About the Golden Rose
The Golden Rose was built in 1953 as a Chris Craft Double Cabin Fly Bridge Cruiser and was originally named "In The Mood." After being damaged in a storm in Puget Sound, it was discovered in a boatyard by Terry Buzzard, the owner of Island Mariner Cruises in Bellingham, Washington. Instead of allowing the beautiful Chris Craft to be scrapped, he decided to recreate her as a Venetian Water Taxi. The boat was stripped down and meticulously rebuilt with the help of his friends at Glen Cove Boatworks. The boat's large windows have a rose etched in the glass at each corner. All of the original chrome pieces were plated in 24-karat gold, which is where she got her new name, Golden Rose. The boat is such a fine piece of workmanship that Christopher Columbus Smith III (third generation Chris Craft), commented after riding in it, that he wished the company had made such a beautiful boat themselves.
