A founding member of the United Nations' Secretary General's global company advisory council, Dr. Jonah earned an honorary Doctor of Science from the Camborne School of Mines at the University of Exeter. He also obtained an honorary degree from the University of the Cape Coast. Dr. Jonah has served as an advisor to the former South African President, Thabo Mbeki, former Nigerian Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, and the former Ghanaian president John Agyekum Kuffour. He is also a member of the Togo Presidential Investment Advisory Council.
For his professional excellence, Dr. Jonah was celebrated with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Commonwealth Business Council and African Business Magazine. Recognized among the World's Top 25 Most Influential Business People through CNN and Time Magazine, he was additionally knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and was featured in Who's Who in the World. He was also honoured by the National Academy of Engineering for his significant contributions to engineering research, practice, or education.
