Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital Welcomes the Newest Sets of Quads

Since January there have been 63 multiple births, including quadruplets, triplets and twins, at the Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, July 03, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital's Labor and Deliver department has seen a productive year. So far in 2019, the Ogden, Utah hospital has been part of many new beginnings that came in multiples. Since January there have been 63 multiple births, including quadruplets, triplets and twins, at the hospital.

Heather and Steve Staley welcomed their quadruplets on June 7th, 2019, with Tara, McCall, Cole, and Parker. The infants are currently in the neonatal intensive care unit at McKay-Dee Hospital and progressing well. It's anticipated that the entire Staley family will be arriving home within the next few weeks.

McKay-Dee Hospital spent months preparing for their arrival as the birth took a collaboration of 26 caregivers as part of the delivery. The team consisted of doctors including neonatologists, delivery nurses, respiratory therapists, NICU nurses, and more. A plan was drawn to ensure that the deliveries of each baby went smoothly.

"That's what we are here for, to take care of the community in times of joy and in need," said Mike Clark, McKay-Dee Hospital's administrator. "Our caregivers prepared and collaborated across many clinical teams for this wonderful moment."

At 31 weeks into the pregnancy, when Heather was ready for the delivery, the caregivers were mobilized within the surgical room and adjoining neonatal rooms awaiting each baby. One by one, as they were born, the babies were given immediate attention in a coordinated manner. The labor process went smoothly and now the infants are resting comfortable in the NICU getting ready for the departure home.

"We are so excited to welcome these four miracle babies into our family and enjoy the sweet spirits they are! We want to publicly express our gratitude to the amazing doctors and nurses whom effectively and efficiently delivered our babies," said Heather and Steve Staley. "They continue to give them the best of care as they grow and prepare to come home. We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers on our behalf."

Since January there have been 63 multiple births, including quadruplets, triplets and twins, at the Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital.
