/24-7PressRelease/ - Tampa, FL, April 12, 2008, David McFarland, President of Quality Marine Refrigeration, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of business management.

Mr. McFarland has an impressive 29-year background in his field. Citing a longstanding interest and reputation in the refrigeration industry, he has thus developed many life long customers. His hands-on approach to customer service is one of the reasons he has enjoyed continued success in his business. Mr. McFarland is responsible for overseeing all operations of the company each day and he personally handles all of the customer service phone calls from around the world. Quality Marine Refrigeration is a wholesale and retail equipment company that provides commercial and marine refrigeration equipment to contractors, shipyards, fishing fleets and individual fishermen that own their own vessel.

Quality Marine Refrigeration systems are in use on a wide range of vessels in the U.S.A. from the Gulf of Mexico to New Bedford, MA, and worldwide from the Samoan Islands in the Pacific to many countries in South America, Central America and Africa.

The Quality Marine story begins with the end of the Turbo Marine Co. in 1998. The Turbo Marine Co. was truly a world leader in Marine refrigeration. The company was founded in the 1960's by Henry Carpenter, who brought his vast knowledge of refrigeration to Tampa, FL. There, he designed and built simple, reliable and user friendly systems for some of the world's largest shrimp boat fleets, such as Sahlman Seafoods. Mr. Carpenter knew how to build systems for the harsh marine environment, since he worked in it himself as a sea captain. In the following years, the word spread and Turbo Marine equipment became the industry standard from Alaska to Africa. Henry Carpenter has passed on, but the legacy of Turbo Marine lives on in Quality Marine Refrigeration. David McFarland continues to build quality machines and serves the needs of many of the "old" Turbo Marine customers and has developed many new customers in the fishing industry around the world.
