AAA Public Adjusters Talk About Getting Rid of Mineral Deposits on Faucets

Getting Rid of Mineral Deposits on Shower Heads/Faucets

PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sometimes mineral deposits build up on shower heads causing the water to run slower and causing homeowners to waste water. However, there is a simple way to clean all of the mineral build up from the shower head and the homeowner only has to use household products.

Homeowners should keep in mind that this fix generally works best on shower heads with chrome, stainless steel, or other metal surfaces with a protective finish.

Things needed:
- Sandwich bag
- White Vinegar
- Rubber Band
- Toothbrush

Step 1: Pour Vinegar into sandwich bag. Some homeowners suggest warming the vinegar slightly.
Step 2: Place the rubber band around the shower head.
Step 3: Attach sandwich bag to shower head with rubber band. Wrap the rubber band around the top of the bag around the shower head.
Step 4: Let soak for at least one hour.
Step 5: Remove band and rubber band. Once removed, turn the shower on to flush out the shower head and rinse away vinegar. Any stubborn deposits can be removed with a toothbrush or other soft bristle brushes.
Step 6: Polish the shower head with a soft cloth.
This process can also be done to any faucets within the home.

If during this process a homeowner discovers water damage due to a leaking or burst pipe, they should call a public adjuster to help them with an insurance claim.
