PSSLife! University Breaks 100 Event Milestone Six Months After Launch

New Community Education Initiative for New York City's Older Adults by Multi-Service Nonprofit Agency PSS

    NEW YORK, NY, August 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Six months after the non-profit agency PSS launched its community education initiative PSSLife! University, it has offered over 100 different events for over 1,500 older adults and professionals from throughout the city.

"On just one day this summer we ran three very different events in three venues for 131 participants," said PSS Executive Director Rimas Jasin. "At the Aetna Better Health of New York headquarters, we briefed 72 professional caseworkers about PSS Circle of Care's services for those caring for someone who is chronically ill, frail or has memory loss; hosted a Trust Basics for Caregivers webinar for 51 online participants; and a Money Made Simple workshop for eight older New Yorkers at our 39 Broadway office."

PSSLife! University offers a robust schedule of community education presentations and workshops for adults 50 and older via online webinars, at any of its four locations (Wall Street, Upper West Side, Bronx, Queens) or various community locations throughout all five boroughs.

PSS was founded in 1962 as Presbyterian Senior Services by volunteers to serve older members of their church community. Today, PSS is an innovative, multi-service nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency whose mission is to strengthen the capacity of older New Yorkers, their families, and communities to thrive. PSS has over 70 dedicated staff and 300 committed volunteers and interns.
