Magsig with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Magsig celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With more than 40 years of experience in primary school education, Ms. Magsig has become an authority in her industry. Beginning her career with the Gaylord Community Schools as a first grade teacher from 1961 to 1964, she later served as a special education teacher from 1965 to 1967 and as a kindergarten teacher from 1968 to 1999. She concluded her career in 2004 after a year as a violin teacher at the Concord Academy Antrim. An instructor of the Suzuki violin method, Ms. Magsig served as a private violin instructor throughout her career.

Prior to becoming an esteemed educator, Ms. Magsig pursued higher education with a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in early education and music from Alma College in Michigan in 1961. She is a certified early childhood teacher in the state of Michigan. Learning how to play the violin because of her teacher, Virginia Dent, the proudest moment of her career was helping to found the Gaylord Youth Orchestra. Previously a member of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and the Cadillac Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Magsig is a current member of the Gaylord Chamber Orchestra and the Alpena Chamber Orchestra.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. Magsig remains informed of the changes and advancements in her industry through relevant organizations. She is a member of the National Education Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Music Teachers National Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Likewise, Ms. Magsig served as a historian for the Gaylord Education Association from 1997 to 1999 and as the president of the Beta Rho Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa from 1980 to 1982.

In light of her many achievements in the field, Ms. Magsig has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Happily married to her husband, George Arthur Magsig, since 1963, she is the proud mother of two children, Amy and Karl, and grandmother to five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and one step greatgrandson. In her free time, Ms. Magsig enjoys cross-stitching, camping, canoeing and sewing.
