Robert C. Baron Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    DENVER, CO, August 09, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert C. Baron with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Baron celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his fields. A registered profession engineer, Mr. Baron began his career with RCA in Camden, New Jersey and then in 1960 joined Computer Control Company in Framingham, Massachusetts. He was program manager for the on board computers that flew on Mariner II (Venus) and Mariner IV (Mars) on the first inter planetary missions. He managed an integrated circuit laboratory that developed some of the industry's first semiconductor memories and was worldwide system's manager for Honeywell's minicomputer business. In 1971 he founded Prime Computer, which became one of the Fortune 500 largest American companies, and was its first president and chief executive officer, building a worldwide business. He was in private practice for six years and in 1984, he moved to Denver where he founded Fulcrum, Inc. a book publishing company.

Other professional endeavors including sitting on the Board of Directors of Prime Computer, Alling Lander, Fulcrum Publishing, Fulcrum Group and 1M Education. A published author of more than thirty books, his works include "Digital Logic and Computer Operations," Pioneers and Plodders: the American Entrepreneurial Spirit," The Garden and Farm Books of Thomas Jefferson," The Light Shines from the West: A Western Perspective on the Growth of America," "Journey to the Mountaintop," and the film "Wilderness in America." In recognition of his achievements in publishing, he and his wife were honored by the Writers Guild of America, the first non-New York publisher so honored.

He was Chair of the American Antiquarian Society for ten years, the Chair of the WILD Foundation for twelve years, President of the Denver Public Library Friends, and a director of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, Lincoln Filene Center of Tufts University, Rocky Mountain Women's Institute, and the Thoreau Society. He is a fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society, the Explorers Club, and the American Antiquarian Society. He is the founder of the International League of Conservation Writers, 3'd third and Films by Fulcrum. Mr. Baron has received numerous awards including the Rittenhouse Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Eleanor Gehres Award and the Authors Guild of America Award for Distinguished Service to the Literary Community.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Baron graduated from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science in physics in 1956. Outside of work, he very much enjoys writing, reading, sports, gardening, collecting clocks and fly fishing.
