Mr. Brown is a corporate lawyer with more than 30 years of distinguished contributions to the field. He attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, completing a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1969 before earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Antioch School of Law in 1976. Mr. Brown concluded his education with a Master of Liberal Arts in history from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2006.

Mr. Brown was admitted to practice law by the District of Columbia Bar in 1976, the State Bar of California in 1992 and the Maine State Bar in 2000. From 1991 to 2000, he was Assistant General Counsel for the Northrop Grumman Corp. He has been in private practice since 2000, and acted as counsel at the firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in Washington, D.C., from 2004 to 2006. From 2010 to 2017, Mr. Brown was an adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law.

Mr. Brown is the author of numerous books on white-collar prosecution, including "U.S. Money Laundering Laws" in 2014 and "Bribery in International Commerce" in 2003. He has shared his professional expertise as counsel to the special adviser of the Board of Police Commissioners in Los Angeles in 1993, and as the director of the Maine Bar Foundation since 2012. Mr. Brown has been named a fellow of the Maine Justice Foundation.
