Dr. E. Thomas Strom has been an adjunct professor with the University of Texas at Arlington since 1996.

With more than 50 years of professional experience, Dr. Strom has been an adjunct professor with the University of Texas at Arlington since 1996. Prior to obtaining this position, he was a senior research chemist with Mobil Research & Development Corporation from 1964 to 1995. In addition to his primary roles, Dr. Strom served as councilor for the American Chemical Society and the editor of the Southwest Retort, and he holds 25 patents in oil field chemistry.

Dr. Strom earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in 1964 from Iowa State University, Ames. He subsequently served in the United States Army on active duty from 1964 to 1966. A fellow of the American Chemical Society, he was chair of the division of the history of chemistry, and he is a member of the Oak Cliff Lions Club.

Throughout his career, Dr. Strom has been recognized for his contributions, and he is particularly proud of his work in free radical chemistry. He was the recipient of the Wilfred T. Doherty Award from the Dallas Fort Worth section of the American Chemical Society in 1989. He has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World. In his free time, Dr. Strom enjoys reading, piano and Egyptology.
