Dianora Niccolini Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    NEW YORK, NY, September 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Dianora Niccolini with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Niccolini celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Having accrued almost 50 years of professional experience, Ms. Niccolini, now retired, was the owner of Dianora Niccolini Creations from 1976 to 1990. Previously, she worked as a member of the Third Eye Gallery in New York between 1974 and 1976. Ms. Niccolini found great success as an organizer for the department of medical and audio visual education at St. Clare's Hospital from 1967 to 1976.

At Lenox Hill Hospital, Ms. Niccolini contributed as the first chief medical photographer from 1965 to 1967 and as an organizer for the medical photography department from 1965 to 1967. Her career began in 1963, when she excelled as a medical photographer for the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital until 1965. Additionally, she has held instructor positions at the New York Institute of Technology, the New York Institute of Photography, and the Camera Club of New York.

Prior to her professional career, Ms. Niccolini was a student at Hunter College from 1955 to 1982 and spent a year of that time studying at the Art Students League of New York. She also pursued further coursework at the Germain School Photography in 1962. Ms. Niccolini completed her education at Marymount Manhattan College, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1995.

Ms. Niccolini has presented one-woman shows at the 209 Photo Gallery, the Top of the Stairs Gallery, the W. Broadway Gallery, the Impulse Gallery, the Throckmorton Fine Art Gallery, and the Third Eye Gallery. Her solo exhibit at the latter gallery was the first gallery exhibit of male nudes by anyone. She has been exhibited in group shows at the Jacob Javits Federal Building, Neikrug Gallery, and the Curcio-Spector Gallery, among other venues. Known for her photography of the male nude, she is the author of "Men in Focus," and she has contributed to "Women of Vision" and "Big Fun with Billy." Her photographic legacy lives on through the Modern Political and Historical Collections MARBL (Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Book Library) at Emory University. She is included, as well, in the permanent collections of over a dozen museums throughout the USA. This includes the Library of Congress and the Getty Museum.


Outside of her immediate professional responsibilities, Ms. Niccolini is a past member of the Professional Women Photographers organization, of which she was president from 1980 to 1984. Under her leadership, the organization became the leading professional organization for female photographers. She has also given her time and services to the American Society of Picture Professionals, the International Center of Photography, and the Biological Photograph Association.
