SARASOTA, FL, September 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Parkinson Place is pleased to announce that Alix Redmonde, a face familiar to Suncoast television viewers, has been appointed as the organization's new chief executive officer.

Redmond joins the Parkinson Place team from CAN Community Health, where she served as media relations director. She was also the health and medical reporter for ABC 7 (WWSB-TV), as well as a former show host and journalist for SNN 6 (WSNN-TV).

"Redmonde will add a new dimension to the services and programs offered by Parkinson Place," said Parkinson Research Foundation Chairman Larry Hoffheimer. "We are very excited about her vision to show the Parkinson community on Florida's Southwest coast how participating in the varied education and therapeutic services available at Parkinson Place is life changing."

Bringing more than 30 years of fundraising experience to Parkinson Place, Redmonde previously served as regional chair of New York's Workout for Hope, benefiting City of Hope's Beckman Research Institute. In addition, Redmonde was the 2016 fundraising champion of CAN Community Health's annual signature event, CANDance.
