Mr. Reppen, known as Dag Reppen in the English-speaking world, enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an electrical engineer and consultant for 50 years. He started his career as an application engineer at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY. In 1969 he became one of seven founders of a new electric power consulting firm, Power Technologies, Inc. Better known by its initials PTI, this company grew in size and scope to become one of the premier consulting companies serving the electric power industry in the US and worldwide. Mr. Reppen remained with this company for 30 years serving as a consultant and as a manager of the power transmission reliability unit. He also served on the board of directors of PTI. Prior to retiring in 2014, he served 14 years as the principal consultant of his own independent consulting firm.

Mr. Reppen graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering at The Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1965 in his home country of Norway. In his thesis work on losses in electric power systems he was inspired by advanced work in this subject area by a consulting group at The General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY. This led to his moving to the U.S. and joining that group in 1966. He has since been surrounded by the leading edge of new technologies, making his career extremely rewarding. Mr. Reppen's professional journey has included a very active participation in the Power Engineering Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers where he for many years served as chairman of the power system reliability committee. He has authored numerous technical papers in his field and has contributed several chapters to the 2011 "Electric Power Engineering Handbook". He is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Mr. Reppen has been active in the educational programs at the first Unitarian Society of Schenectady and served as chairman of their endowment funds. He has also served as chairman of the endowment funds at Girls Incorporated. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Reppen has been featured in the 47th through 55th editions of Who's Who in America.
