FunnyFlux Diversifies its Character IP-based Content Business

Expectation for profit in global market rises by participating in MIPCOM-AFM

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Creative animation studio FunnyFlux (www.funnyflux.kr, CEO: Jeong Gil-hun) is diversifying its business model to kids cafe, licensing and contents business and also other contents like long animation and children's musical with the intellectual property rights (IP) on its characters Super Wings and Katuri.

FunnyFlux is an animation production company highly recognized in Korea and abroad. Tickety Toc, the first show in Asia which FunnyFlux distributed to Nickelodeon in 2010, was aired in 170 countries around the world, and Super Wings began in Korea in 2014 and has aired in 90 countries around the world, including the US, Germany, UK, Italy and China. Katuri was released in 2016 and won the Presidential Award at the Korea Contents Award in just one year after being aired on EBS. It reached 5 billion accumulated VOD views in China in just one year, once again attracting the attention from the global market.

FunnyFlux is currently on its way to launch the next show Dinoster and turn it into a globally popular boy action brand, following the footsteps of Super Wings and Katuri. To do this, FunnyFlux will be exhibiting its character IPs and contents planning and production capabilities to the overseas buyers like the global animation producers in MIPCOM 2019 in Cannes in this October and the American Film Market (AFM 2019) in Santa Monica in this November.

Hong Jeong-jin, the creative planning director of FunnyFlux, said, "We will take part in MIPCOM and AFM and pitch the Dinoster Project Show Bible and Trailer to overseas buyers." He added, "I am curious about how our contents will be viewed in the global market, and I hope that we can meet the partners that will recognize our experience and competencies, and also our ideas and planning power."

For the past 10 years, FunnyFlux has grown as a creative animation planning and production company. Now, it is diversifying its character IP-based business to meet the needs of the market based on various experiences accumulated in planning, production technology, and licensing. In line with this, FunnyFlux opened its first Katuri Kids Cafe last September in Yongho-dong, Busan, offering a variety of experience education contents with cooking and craft classes. It is loved by both parents and children as an "educational cafe".

FunnyFlux will provide _Dinoster_, the global CGI co-production project made into a dinosaur experience contents funded by National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) over ground TV, cable TV and IPTV and YouTube channel, continuously airing and uploading the episodes. Based on the mechanics appearing in the work, the company plans to make the toy unboxing and live-action episodes using the toys and creators.

"With various works, we want to lay the foundation for our business so that the children of all ages can consume healthy contents created by FunnyFlux," said Jang Moon-seok, the Strategic Contents Business Department of FunnyFlux. He also said, "We want to meet influential partners in the global market to showcase the value of our brand and production capabilities, and in the domestic market, we are planning to expand the company's business performances in the production of TV series and licensing projects, as well as in the production of animated films and musicals, and the operation of kids cafes."
