Dr. Michelle Dawn Inkster, MA, MBA, PhD, MD of Cleveland, Ohio is recognized by the International Association of Who's Who as an Expert in Medicine for her exemplary achievements in the field of Medicine.

CLEVELAND, OH, November 03, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Drawing on over 25 years of experience, Dr. Inkster is a highly seasoned medical professional who has excelled throughout her career, specializing in Gastroenterology.

Always keen to pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Inkster, originally from Adelaide, Australia, attained her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from St. Louis University School of Medicine and then graduated from Medical School at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. This was followed with both an Internship and a Fellowship at Metro Health Medical Center in Ohio, in addition to achieving Board Certification in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

For the past 15 years, Ms. Inkster has worked as a Staff Gastroenterologist at Cleveland Clinic; the Clinic is well respected in the community for providing high quality patient care, specializing in digestive diseases and liver disease among others.

Dr. Inkster has refined her expertise in anal dysplasia. The condition often is not discussed because of embarrassment but is more common than realized. There is no accurate counting of persons with this condition because anal cancer, unlike colon cancer, is not listed in many databases. The human papillomavirus (HPV) has been associated with cervical cancer, head and neck cancer as well as anal cancer. Those persons who are immunosuppressed will be more at risk from anal dysplasia than others. This includes those who have had cervical cancer, solid organ transplants (liver, kidney, heart and small bowel transplants) and people who are taking immuno-suppressant medication – this can be those persons with inflammatory bowel disease or Rheumatoid arthritis, for example.

Focusing her efforts on endoscopy and liver disease, Dr. Inkster is dedicated to seeking out new and innovative solutions to help treat anal dysplasia. She is currently working on a cutting-edge study into anal dysplasia which she hopes will help raise vital awareness and in turn, save many more lives. Her goal is to find a way for any physician to diagnose, treat and then confirm eradication of anal dysplasia.

Keen to remain at the forefront of her profession, Dr. Inkster is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, and the American Gastroenterological Association. She is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. Looking to the future, Dr. Inkster plans to continue advocating for anal dysplasia screening to become routine for high risk patients.

When not busy working, Dr. Inkster loves to travel. She has also taped Books for the Blind and has shared her spare time supporting domestic violence victims and feeding the homeless.
