Mr. Stone has conducted numerous lectures on taxation, health care and white collar crime during his career. Mr. Stone likewise co-authored "Handling Criminal Tax Cases: A Lawyers Guide," "Federal Civil Tax Law" and "Negotiating to Win."

A notable figure in his community, Mr. Stone is known for his charitable endeavors. He founded a teaching nursing home for the University of Illinois, as well as a rehabilitation center for veterans at the Hines VA. He was the chairman of the University of Illinois Foundation Fund for Gerontology Research from 1984 to 2014.

Mr. Stone first studied at the University of Illinois before acquiring a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Roosevelt University in 1963. He likewise obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from DePaul University in 1972.
