Barbara Fenzl has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Barbara Fenzl has made numerous appearances on national television programs, providing her cooking expertise to a massive audience.

    PHOENIX, AZ, November 13, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara Fenzl has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Fenzl initially became passionate about cooking and entertaining when her husband, Terry, was a young lawyer, often bringing clients and coworkers over for dinner. She eventually earned much acclaim for her food, and was invited to teach at Rio Salado Community College in Phoenix, where she held weekly classes from 1980 to 1983. Subsequently, Ms. Fenzl chaired a fundraiser featuring Julia Child hosted by the Phoenix Art Museum. Ms. Child encouraged her to start a cooking school and become a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Ms. Fenzl did join the IACP, served on the board for eight years and was the president from 1993 to 1994.

On Ms. Child's advice, Ms. Fenzl enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in London, England, and Ecole le Notre in Paris, France, completing the culinary education required to become certified as a culinary professional by the IACP. In 1983, she returned to the United States to open Les Gourmettes Cooking School, which she ran until May 2019. She has also been a guest teacher at cooking schools throughout North America. Likewise, Ms. Fenzl is the author of several cookbooks on Southwestern American cuisine, and wrote for Bon Appetit magazine for ten years.

Ms. Fenzl developed and hosted the PBS show "Savor the Southwest" in 1999. Moreover, she has made numerous appearances on national television programs, providing her cooking expertise to a massive audience. Ms. Fenzl is a member of the James Beard Foundation, Les Dames d'Escoffier, and the American Institute of Wine & Food.

Prior to embarking upon her professional path, Ms. Fenzl graduated with a Bachelor of Science in American Institutions from the University of Wisconsin. She later graduated with a Master of Arts in history and secondary education from Arizona State University. Prior to opening Les Gourmettes, Ms. Fenzl worked for several years as a middle school humanities teacher.
