Maintaining her own private practice as the founder of Friedman & Friedman, PLLC, Attorneys at Law, in Garden City, she focuses on matrimonial and family law, which include matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, fathers' rights and more. Prior to establishing her firm, Ms. Friedman worked for four years as a clerk for the second department of the Supreme Court's appellate division in Brooklyn, New York, where she gained extensive expertise in appellate litigation.

Aligned with several other organizations outside of her full-time commitments at her firm, Ms. Friedman has notably excelled as a general counsel for the Father's Rights Association of New York State (FRANYS) since 1990. A charitable, not-for-profit, all-volunteer educational organization, the FRANYS seeks, through equal parenting rights, to ensure that children maintain a continuing, nurturing relationship with both parents after divorce or separation. Ms. Friedman is also active as a counselor for the National Center for Men since 1994, a non-profit organization located in Coram, NY, dedicated to the advocacy of men's equal rights, educates the public about how men have been hurt by sex discrimination and counsels individuals and families who have been damaged by discrimination against men.

Ms. Friedman formerly served as a counselor for the Dad's Advocacy Group in Brooklyn in 1993. A contributing author of the monthly Father's Rights Newsletter, she has also authored professional articles for various publications on family law. Furthermore, Ms. Friedman has lectured numerous times at the Marino Institute for Continuing Legal Education seminars on matrimonial law.

Ms. Friedman pursued an education at Hofstra University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1977 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, in 1980. She has been admitted to practice law by the New York State Bar Association, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States. To stay current in her field, Ms. Friedman is a member of the Nassau Bar Association and the Hofstra University Law Review.

Honored among New York's Legal Leaders' Top Rated Lawyers in 2015, 2016 and 2019, Ms. Friedman has also been recognized among the 10 Best Family Law Attorneys for Client Satisfaction in New York by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys.
