Ms. Cicale worked in health care as a triage nurse, family nurse practitioner and employee health nurse practitioner for 37 wonderful years. Concluding her career in 2014 with Best Health Care in Corcoran, California, after 11 years of part-time practice with the organization, she also held positions with several other health care facilities throughout California, including the Tulare Health Clinic in Tulare, the Nipomo Medical Center in Nipomo and the Naval Hospital of Lemoore. Where she served for ten years in the Family Practice Clinic, and for her last six years there as the Lead Deployment Health Department medical provider. Ms. Cicale was also affiliated with the Hanford Convalescent Hospital, a nursing home in Hanford, California, where she provided medical care to patients and staff part-time between 1995 and 2005. Additionally, she spent two years in Taif, Saudi Arabia, at the Al Hada Hospital between 1980 and 1982 and two years in Seattle at Group Health Cooperative between 1978 and 1980 where she directed the telephone triage service in its pioneering phase.
Leading an impressive professional career in health care, Ms. Cicale was a guest speaker throughout Santa Maria and Fresno County, California, speaking on topics related to family and women's health between 1976 and 1993. She hosted a weekly talk radio show for a Spanish-language station show in Santa Ynez, California, and a monthly television show for Univision in Santa Maria, California. She was also a health columnist for "Nipomo Advance" in Nipomo, California, where she covered various health related topics.
An alumnus of City University in Seattle, Ms. Cicale received a Bachelor of Science in health care administration in 1980. She is notably a certified family nurse practitioner through the University of California Davis, certified family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Association and registered nurse in Washington, California, the United Kingdom and Puerto Rico.
Ms. Cicale was a 1953 music scholar through Western Washington University and an Irene Kahl Memorial scholar through the Group Health Auxiliary. She received a Golden Tampon Award from Santa Barbara County, California, in 1984 for having diagnosed the first known case of Toxic Shock Syndrome in the Santa Barbara Health Department. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Cicale was featured in the third edition of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
Ms. Cicale attended Western Washington University on a music scholarship. Her major was pre-medicine, her minor was journalism. It was during her initial college experience that she interviewed Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, as well as other notables, for the school newspaper. Later she wrote for the Fresno Bee while living in the San Joaquin Valley.
