She is additionally active as a nurse assistant with the aforementioned organization for their rehabilitation facility in Lennox, SD. Miss Jacobs has held similar positions throughout the length of her career, having worked for Fellowship Village, Julia's Valley Manor, Countryside Retirement Home, Sunrise Manor, Hillhaven, and Beverly Enterprises, to name a few.

Prior to embarking upon her professional ventures in caregiving, Miss Jacobs earned her certification as a nursing assistant from Western Iowa Tech Community College in 1976. She subsequently began her career as a nurse in the town of Onawa in 1976. Recognized for her talent during the earliest stages of her career, Miss Jacobs drew inspiration from her mother, Mary Ellen, who preceded her as a registered nurse, as well as from Helen Parish.

In addition to her primary career pursuits, Miss Jacobs has served as a nurse's assistant with Kimberly Nursing in West Des Moines from 1982 to 1983 and again in 1986. She has also performed restorative therapy on behalf of Rock Rapids Health Center, a role she recalls as a distinct highlight of her career. Moreover, she published a collection of poetry titled "Together We Can," contained in which is an amalgamation of the times, places, and people she has observed throughout her life. Outside of her career responsibilities, Miss Jacobs enjoys such activities as reading, writing, playing the piano, cross-stitching, and needlepoint sewing.
