Artist Alex Boyé Announces Upcoming Film, "American Prophet"

A musician, actor, video director, humanitarian, and global visionary, Boyé calls his multi-cultural, multi-generational style, 'pop music with an African twist.'



    LOS ANGELES, CA, March 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alex Boyé, known for his dynamic African-infused songs and one billion views on YouTube, is in development for his film, "American Prophet," a hip-hop and R&B musical based around the story of religious leader Joseph Smith and the innovative community he created for freed slaves. The story follows three slaves who were set free by their masters on the condition that they would serve the world as missionaries. The movie is expected to go into pre-production in the next few months with producers Edward Wenrick and Suzanne DeLaurentiis.

Alex Boyé, who wrote the story and the composed the songs, was named the 2017 Artist of the Year and has shared the stage with many notable artists including, Jay-Z, Tim McGraw, Missy Elliot and opened for Olivia Newton John at the world-renowned Royal Albert Hall in London.
