Now a retired minister after more than 50 years of experience as a minister, Rev. Cudney served in California, Michigan, and Washington until 2016. Beginning his career as a minister of education at Cedar Avenue Baptist Church in Fresno, California, and Northland Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he later became a senior pastor at several different churches over the next 20 years, including the Maranatha Baptist Church in Issaquah. Additionally, Rev. Cudney contributed for 10 years as west coast representative for the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, an evangelical, Baptist missions' agency that supports more than 1,000 missionaries engaged in evangelism, discipleship and church-planting across 70 countries. He later concluded his career as assistant to the pastor at Eastgate Baptist Church in Bellevue.
Rev. Cudney has also been a prominent figure in real estate. He worked for 33 years in the industry, establishing himself throughout the Bellevue area. Originally hired as a sales associate with Heritage West Properties in 1986, Rev. Cudney subsequently excelled as a broker for Executive Real Estate, as well as RSVP Real Estate.
In 1970, Mr. Cudney authored a book, titled "Administering the Ministry." He later became involved in numerous religious and community initiatives beginning in 1975. He served as the chairman of the board of the Gilead Baptist Camping Association in Washington, was active on the advisory board of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and chaired the board of directors of the Baptist Family Agency in Seattle. Mr. Cudney was also asked by the national fellowship of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches to serve as chairman of local committee for the 1994 and 1999 conferences in Bellevue. Additionally, he was a trustee at his alma mater, Western Baptist College (now Corbin University), between 1975 and 1995.
An alumnus of Western Baptist College, Rev. Cudney received a Bachelor of Arts in 1963. Shortly thereafter, he was ordained to ministry through the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches in 1965. Rev. Cudney was honored with an Outstanding Service Award from Corban University in 2014. For his real estate endeavors, he was named Real Estate Sales Person of the Year during the years of 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995 and 1997. He was also recognized by the Master Builders and Heritage West Properties for his contributions in real estate.
