Florida Behavioral Health Moves to Telehealth Services Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Mental Health Provider Serves Community with Virtual Counseling and Appointments

Not only will Florida Behavioral Health move existing patients to telemedicine, but the organization continues to accept new patients.

ORLANDO, FL, March 25, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As communities around the world struggle with uncertainty during the novel coronavirus pandemic, Florida Behavioral Health announces a move toward telehealth and virtual counseling. With these tools, the mental health organization can prioritize the health and safety of the community while continuing to provide much-needed services during this difficult time.

The hard-working psychiatrists, therapists, and other behavioral health professionals at Florida Behavioral Health know how important mental health is every day, and especially in a global crisis. The company expects to see an increased need for mental health services as people across the state experience anxiety about the coronavirus and depression symptoms from being isolated. As such, they will continue to provide counseling and medication management to people across the state. However, the organization also recognizes the profound importance of social distancing during this pandemic, which prompts this move to telehealth.

What's Telehealth?
During telehealth appointments, patients will be able to talk to their providers as they would in the office, but they will utilize virtual meeting tools that are HIPAA compliant in order to do so. Psychiatrists can continue to prescribe medications based on patient needs, and therapists will offer many of the same therapy services as before.

Currently Accepting New Patients Across Florida
Not only will Florida Behavioral Health move existing patients to telemedicine, but the organization continues to accept new patients. People who live in Florida will be able to access the telehealth waiting room regardless of their history with mental health services. The organization will use telemedicine to treat not only anxiety and depression related to Covid-19, but also other mental health disorders.

How To Setup a Telehealth Appointment
Florida Behavioral Health has made setting up telehealth appointments easy and accessible through either a computer or smartphone. Patients are able to request appointment times online at Florida Behavioral Health's virtual waiting room. This will connect patients directly with psychiatrists and therapists.
