Christian R. Kerns Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Kearns accumulated decades of expertise as a Chemist. He was employed with Spectro Analytical Instruments in Fitchburg, MA, Aerotek Scientific in Fort Lauderdale, and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, a nonprofit oceanographic institution operated by Florida Atlantic University in Fort Pierce. Likewise, Mr. Kerns maintained activity with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in Tallahassee.

Mr. Kern's abiding dedication to community advocacy has seen him serve as the chairperson of the mission committee at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church in Tallahassee. He was also the president of United Methodist Men and member of the evangelism committee at Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester. In 2018 Mr. Kerns was selected layman of the year at Wesley United Methodist. He is currently a Charter Board Member of Interfaith Hospitality Network, which provides food and shelter to homeless families. Born in Virginia, Mr. Kerns attended college locally, acquiring a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at West Virginia University in 1978. In 1971, he was named captain of the Colorado State Championship Basketball Team. Mr. Kerns was selected first Team All-State in Men's Basketball by the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News.

To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Kerns has maintained professional membership of the American Chemical Society. Other professional memberships to his credit have included the Lions Club, where he once served as president and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as an honorary member. Recognized for his achievements, Mr. Kerns received two awards from the American Biographical Institute in 2011. He was honored with a Science Excellence Award and was named Man of the Year. Mr. Kerns' biography was included in the first edition of Great Men and Women of Science. This book features scientists thru history from antiquity to present day. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Kerns has been cited in close to 30 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
