Having studied at Western Michigan University for his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mr. Hands enrolled at Valparaiso University School of Law, going on to successfully attain his Juris Doctorate.
After completing his studies, Mr. Hands embarked on an early legal career in the field of interstate trucking. He continued to develop and refine his skills over the years, before starting up his own practice specializing in estate planning, probate and tax reduction.
In his current role as President and Founder, Mr. Hands dedicates his time to providing his clients with estate planning and related services, attracting clients from the Oak Brook, Cary, DuPage and McHenry Counties, as well as further afield. He has been quoted as saying, 'I hold a strong belief in the importance of providing my clients with proper estate planning'. This includes ensuring that estate plans take into account the individual circumstances of each family unit, whether it includes members with special needs, those facing financial problems, even beloved pets.
Among his many achievements, Mr. Hands is an established writer, having co-authored the book 'Love, Money, Control: Reinventing Estate Planning '. He is also well-known on the speaker circuit, drawing on his accomplishments as an Oak Brook Estate Planning & Trust Administration Attorney to deliver seminars both publicly and to professionals in the finance industry.
Keen to remain at the forefront of his industry, Mr. Hands is affiliated with the Illinois State and DuPage County Bar, the Elder Counsel, the Wealth Counsel as well as being a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners. He is also proud to have been listed in the Top Attorneys of North America 2018-19.
When not busy working, Mr. Hands, who is widowed, enjoys spending time with his two daughters, one of whom has special needs.
