NAPLES, FL, May 05, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Domestic violence and human trafficking remain real issues for many women and children. In 2018, for instance, the Naples Shelter for Abused Women and Children provided over 28,000 nights of shelter and 9,079 hours of childcare to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.

Seeing such high numbers of need, the Alsco Naples Branch wanted to help support and protect some of the community's most vulnerable members.

"You never know if some of our employees or future employees will have a need or have used their services," says William Dandridge, the General Manager of the Alsco Naples Branch.

With a mission to prevent domestic violence and human trafficking and protect victims through advocacy, empowerment and social change, the Shelter opened in 1986 in response to a notable increase in calls to the county's Hotline and Rape Crisis Program.

Over the years, the Shelter has expanded its footprint and added additional services, such as serving the needs of child victims as well. Today, some 67 full‐ and part‐time staff members provide services in three different locations through residential and outreach services.

"The Shelter can help turn around the lives of local families and help them to move forward with their lives, and that's something worth supporting," notes Dandridge.
