MCKINNEY, TX, May 11, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephanie Talley has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Ms. Talley is an educator with more than a decade of expertise in academic enrichment and development. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, and is currently pursuing doctoral coursework in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University at Commerce. Her passion for education began while working for a friend's parent in high school, during which time she was administering theater camps for youth. Ms. Talley's enthusiasm for academia was cemented by a Computer Science teacher in college, who encouraged each student to find their true calling in life.
From 2008 to 2010, Ms. Talley worked as a Special Collections student employee at Brigham Young University's Harold B. Lee Library. She joined the Nebo School District in 2010 as a sixth grade teacher, later transitioning to planning time technician in 2011, and third grade classroom teacher from 2011 to 2012. She moved to Texas and joined Academics Plus in 2013 as an instructor, quickly rising to the post of an Assistant Director soon thereafter. In 2015, Ms. Talley purchased Academics Plus from the previous owner, and continues to operate it independently.
As the director of Academics Plus, L.C, Ms. Talley coordinates student success on all levels, including collaboration, communication, administrative duties, and delivering instruction. In addition to her role at Academics Plus, she is active as the Youth Services Chair for the Rotary Club of McKinney, of which she has been a member since 2016. She attributes her success to her passion for her work, as well as the support of her husband, children, professors, and the former owner of Academics Plus, Dr. Melinda Crenwelge.
Ms. Talley is a long-standing member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. Through the McKinney Rotary Club, she has participated in numerous local initiatives benefiting youth and non-profit organizations. Notably, Ms. Talley has been featured on the cover of a 2019 issue of McKinney Living, and is a 2016 Best of McKinney Living Award winner.
