Ms. Albohn began her career as a Social Services Examiner for the Suffolk County Department of Social Services in New York in 2005. During this time, she also obtained an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies. She shifted gears and worked as Head Paralegal for a prominent elder law firm, Grabie & Grabie, LLP where she worked under five attorney's doing Medicaid applications, working with families, and drafting legal estate planning and real estate documents. Ms. Albohn continued to build on her education goals with a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration and took a position as Director of Admissions and Medicaid in a Nassau County Skilled Nursing Facility. During this time, her family was dealing with issues related to her grandmother's dementia diagnosis and she knew first hand that families needed more than just advise, they needed hand holding.
In 2014, Ms. Albohn became a Certified Medicaid Planner, issued by the Wealth Institute and opened her firm, In Good Hands Medicaid Consulting LLC alongside her business partner, Alissa Laffer. Combined with her personal experiences with a loved one with dementia, and her multifaceted experience in the healthcare and Medicaid fields, she began guiding fellow New Yorker's through the difficult times when an elderly loved one needs assistance. Through her firm, she has been able to help her community in a way she could not by working for others in her previous positions. Ms. Albohn and In Good Hands Medicaid Consulting LLC have contributed to the Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center, Family Service League, Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation and the League of Women Voters. In Good Hands Medicaid Consulting LLC is also approved by the Better Business Bureau.
Devoted to her community, Ms. Albohn continues to assist families throughout New York State and is a trusted resource for hospitals, nursing homes, assisted livings, and social workers who have families in need of assistance during trying times.
