Dr. Abdallah began his career at Eastern Company S.A.E. (ex BAT) in Egypt after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Cairo University, where he later started his Master of Science in Food Flavors. He then received a Ph.D. scholarship from North Carolina State University and immigrated to the United States. He enrolled in the Graduate School and while serving as a graduate assistant, he earned his Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry and sensory properties of cigarette smoke. Before his retirement in 2017, he met with much success throughout his career in numerous positions in the U.S. cigarette and tobacco industry in the areas of sales and technical services. In 1986, Dr. Abdallah flourished in administrative and executive roles as the president of ISSCORP (USA) and Fawky Abdallah Co., Inc.
As a dedicated professional in his field, Dr. Abdallah researched correlations between smoking and health and concluded that cigarette smoking is a serious health hazard. He then developed methods and techniques to make less-harmful cigarette products for those who choose to smoke. Dr. Abdallah contributed his wealth of knowledge to more than 60 national and international technical seminars on cigarette product development.
Dr. Abdallah was most proud to be recognized for "2017 Most Outstanding Service to the Industry" by Tobacco Reporter. In addition, he has authored three books titled "Sensory Evaluation of Cigarette Smoke, Principles & Application", "Cigarette Product Development" and "Can Tobacco Quality be Measured?" that were translated and published in Spanish, Russian and Chinese. Moreover, Dr. Abdallah has penned numerous published papers and articles featured in prolific industry journals.
Dr. Abdallah attributes his many professional successes to teamwork. He strived to build productive teams throughout the world, through which he helped them succeed in their own careers.
