An accomplished listee, Ms. Cheng celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in his field. Ms. Cheng is a retired attorney who celebrated nearly 30 years in the legal community in the State of New York. After obtaining her law degree, she spent the first few years of her career as Associate Counsel to the Public Administrator of Queens County. She then worked at a law office in Jamaica Estates before becoming a partner at the firm of Longo & Cheng. In 1996, Ms. Cheng joined the Kings County Surrogate's Court in Brooklyn, New York, starting as the Principal Law Clerk to the Surrogate Judge and eventually as a Court Attorney-Referee in the law department, a position that she retired from. As an Asian woman working in an environment mainly dominated by male counterparts, her role had her going above and beyond at all times to ensure credibility. She then served as Of-Counsel and as Assistant General Counsel for two other area firms until 2015.

During her career Ms. Cheng has concentrated her practice in the area of Wills, and Trusts and Estates. She has been a speaker and panelist at various seminars at St. John's Law School, at the Kings County Surrogate's Court, the Queens County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, which she very much enjoyed. She remains a speaker and panelist for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn at its annual trust and estates lawyer's conference since 1996. She was also very active as a mentor and teacher to the younger generation of attorneys.
Ms. Cheng is a graduate of St. John's University in Jamaica, New York, where she acquired a bachelor's degree in 1978 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the law school in 1987. She has been licensed to practice law by the New York State Bar and has been further admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States in 1988.

To support her career, Ms. Cheng has been aligned with the New York State Bar Association, the Queens County Bar Association, the Queens County Women's Bar Association and the Asian American Bar Association of New York. She is also a member of the Chinese Center on Long Island as legal counsel since 1993 and St. John's School of Law Alumni Association as chairman of the membership committee since 1995. She previously served on the alumni association's education committee, diversity committee and admissions committee, and is a former co-chairman of the homecoming committee, former board of directors' member and past vice president of the Brooklyn chapter.

In 1997, Ms. Cheng was selected for an Outstanding Service Award from School of Law at St. John's University and an Alumni Achievement Award from St. John's School of Law Alumni Association. She then received a service award from the Chinese Center on Long Island and a BALLSA Award from St. John's University in 1998, followed by a certificate of recognition from the New York State Unified Court System and an Office of County Executive Award from Nassau County, New York, in 1999. Then, in 2010, Ms. Cheng was honored with an Award for Services as a Court Attorney Referee from the Court Attorney Association of the City of New York.
