The popular reading series will livestream a series of readings with poets, authors and musicians playing together at safe social distances

"I'm glad we found a safe way to collaborate with our artists and viewers until we can return to having live shows," Red Light Lit founder Jennifer Lewis said

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 01, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The popular reading series Red Light Lit is teaming up with the live streaming service Light Rail Station next month to produce a series of readings for those stuck at home during the coronavirus lockdown.

Red Light Lit will host five shows next month featuring their favorite writers and musicians, all performing at socially-safe distances. Each performance will be captured and streamed to Facebook from Light Rail Station's studios.

"It's great that we can continue to connect during the quarantine," Red Light Lit founder Jennifer Lewis said. "I'm glad we found a safe way to collaborate with our artists and viewers until we can return to having live shows."

The first show, on June 11, features poet and activist, Thea Matthews, who will read poems from her debut collection, "Unearth [The Flowers]," which will be released on June 20 (Red Light Lit Press). The other shows will feature musician and author, Nick Jaina, who will be reading from his debut novel, "Hitomi;" writers Peter Bullen, Kar Johnson, Loria Mendoza, and Mackenzie Studebaker; musicians Christopher Danzig, Zelma Stone (Chloe Studebaker), and David Williams; the shows will be hosted by Lewis and comedian Luna Malbroux.

"These shows are a great way to support writers and musicians who are directly affected by the quarantine," Lewis said.

Viewers will not only be able to watch the shows from their homes, they'll be able to interact with the performers. Host Lewis will take questions from the Facebook comments to ask the performers.

"We are excited to collaborate with Light Rail because of their high quality sound and visual experience," Lewis said.

The Red Light Lit lineup for June is as follows:

Thursday, June 11 -- Thea Matthews with David Williams, hosted by Jennifer Lewis.
