After losing her maternal grandmother to Cancer, Tia was driven to pursue a career in the medical field. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Howard University, a Master of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University and a Master of Science in Regulatory Science from the University of Southern California. Subsequently earning a laudable reputation in the field of Biotechnology, Tia presently serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of LucasPye BIO, LLC.
As leader of LucasPye BIO, Tia manages executive business operations, including the formation of corporate collaborations and strategic partnerships; and, capital fundraising operations. She is currently leading LucasPye BIO's commercial real estate project to design & build a large-scale bioprocessing facility to support their customer's inventory requirements for Human Clinical Trials & the Global Commercial Market – this includes future biologic-based therapies for COVID-19. In alignment with LucasPye BIO's mission, Tia focuses on economic development, access to high-quality healthcare, and high-wage employment for members within their local community in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Throughout her career, Tia has gained a wealth of knowledge in many industry techniques, including Bio-Development & Large-Scale Bioprocessing Operations for biological drugs; Human Clinical Trial Management – including Patient Recruitment; Global Regulatory Affairs; Large-Scale Bioprocessing Facility Design; and, Plant Management Operations. For her groundbreaking developments in her field, she was recently featured on the cover of Pharma Tech Outlook Magazine; and, LucasPye BIO was recognized as 1 of the Top 10 CMOs in 2020. She also won 1st place at Delaware Valley University's Inaugural Spark Bowl Competition (2019). In addition, she was selected to present LucasPye BIO at the 2020 BIO International Convention. As a respected voice in her field, Tia was invited as a roundtable speaker at Interphex-NYC 2020 and Yea! Philadelphia. To date, Tia as raised $5M USD in Venture Capital from Black Pearl Global Investments; and, has received an additional commitment for $45M USD in Venture Capital from their respective corporate partners.
Throughout her accomplished career, Tia has attributed her success to support from her family, perseverance, focus and tenacity, as well as an abiding passion for her work in biotechnology. She maintains her professional affiliations with The Partnership, Inc.; International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE); Life Sciences Pennsylvania (LSPA), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). In the coming years, Tia aspires to expand her business and build a Large-Scale Bioprocessing Facility in a third-world country in order to increase their GDP and improve the healthcare standards within their local communities. Tia would also like to start a family with her life partner, Keva Johnson.
