Although her career has been filled with highlights, Giancarla Sambo is especially proud of transitioning from entertaining others to entertainment law.

During the early years of her career, Ms. Sambo wanted to become an on-air personality and pursued a degree in journalism. After working in the field for many years, she believed that she would better serve the broadcasting industry if she could understand the legality of it as well. Since 2006, Ms. Sambo has excelled as an attorney executing a variety of legal matters, including negotiating talent and production agreements, contract drafting, and conducting discovery in U.S. and International Law.
Prior to her current positions, Ms. Sambo flourished as the executive director for the Miss America Organization. Between 2009 and 2017, she directed all aspects of daily operations, including finance, production and business negotiations. Additionally, she found success as an entertainment attorney and talent manager for titleholders and industry talents. Prior to working for The Miss America Organization, Ms. Sambo gained valuable expertise in law and entertainment as a business and entertainment attorney operating in private practice as well as a show host and executive producer for live events.
From 1995 until the late 2000s, Ms. Sambo thrived in broadcasting and journalism as an on-air talent for Raycom Media, an anchor and reporter for Univision Communications, Inc., a bilingual news anchor and reporter for Metro Networks, and a morning show production assistant for Spanish Broadcasting System. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of transitioning from entertaining others to entertainment law. Due to her background in entertainment, Ms. Sambo has a unique skill set that helps her communicate with her clients.
In pursuit of her career in entertainment, Ms. Sambo earned a Bachelor of Arts in media studies and sociology from Fordham University and a Master of Arts in broadcast journalism from New York University. Subsequently, she obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Inter American University School of Law in 2005 and a Master of Laws from Loyola Law School in 2017. Upon her graduation, she was admitted to practice law through the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the New York State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Bar. Ms. Sambo is also certified as a LexisNexis professional researcher.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Sambo affiliates herself with the New York State Bar Association – Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section, the Los Angeles County Bar Association – Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property Section and the American Bar Association. A champion of her community, she has conducted extensive pro-bono work in her hometown. Previously, she volunteered with the Miss America Organization and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Throughout her career, she has been honored numerous times, including being featured in Who's Who in American Law and through Loyola Law School as part of the "Faces of Loyola Law School." In the coming years, Ms. Sambo would like to make a positive impact in her community and further her knowledge in the area of entertainment law.
