Susan Katz Hoffman has been named as the Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers multiple times.

Both Ms. Hoffman and Mr. Machiz are extremely well versed in the litigation process, as well as Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and related employee benefits tax issues.
Ms. Hoffman began her esteemed career in 1974 as an associate attorney with Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz in Philadelphia for one year, and returned to Pepper, Hamilton in 1988 as a partner and as the head of the firm's employee benefits group, until 2006. Before returning to Pepper, Hamilton, Ms. Hoffman worked for Deutsch, Weintraub & Glazerman in Boston as an associate attorney and Goodwin, Procter & Hoar in Boston as an associate and partner. After leaving Pepper, Hamilton and before establishing Justican Mediation, Ms. Hoffman excelled as a shareholder and the leader of the employee benefits practice groups at Littler Mendelson PC between 2006 and 2018.
In addition to maintaining her practice, Ms. Hoffman attends and speaks at various seminars on topics such as employee benefits and labor law. Through her community, she has provided her expertise on the national commission of the Anti-Defamation League (formerly known as the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith). Likewise, Ms. Hoffman has served as an instructor at the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Hoffman was educated at Lake Forest College, from which she attained a Bachelor of Arts in economics, with honors, in 1970. She subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration in labor relations, with distinction, at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, while simultaneously receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 1974. Ms. Hoffman has been admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Within the American Bar Association, Ms. Hoffman has been a member of the Tax Section, and the Labor and Employment Section, and is a former chairperson of that Section's employee benefits committee. She is also a charter fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Named as the Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers multiple times, Ms. Hoffman is also a celebrated Marquis listee, having been cited in the 48th edition of Who's Who in America and the seventh edition of Who's Who in American Law.
