Dr. Lucille A. Green Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

After decades of dedication to her work, Dr. Green earned a PhD at the age of 70



Dr. Lucille A. Green has excelled as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Jackson State University in Mississippi, since 2014.

    JACKSON, MS, August 27, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lucille A. Green has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Supported by over 50 years of dedication to her esteemed work, Dr. Green has excelled as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Jackson State University in Mississippi, since 2014. Formerly serving as an assistant professor at Cuttington University and Hinds Community College, she also worked in the public school system between 1996 and 2003. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Green was employed by Bell South Telephone Company until her retirement from telecommunications in 1996.

Dr. Green previously pursued an education at Jackson State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Jackson State University. After accruing decades of experience, she returned to academia and earned a Master of Arts in theology from Wesley Biblical Seminary. She concluded her studies with a Doctor of Philosophy from Jackson State University at the age of 70, which she cites as a career highlight. Dr. Green is also licensed as a minister who will receive her ordination in the near future.

Civically active, Dr. Green has volunteered at her local church and maintains her involvement with the Susan Komen Foundation, the March of Dimes and a local mentoring program. A member of the Jackson State University Alumni Association, she further flourished past president of Zeta Phi Beta. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, she is the proud mother of four adult children: Chakita, Jerome, Karl and Dwayne. Dr. Green is also grateful for her three grandchildren, Patrice, Jerosha and Noah, as well as her four great-grandchildren.

To attest to her success, Dr. Green has accepted numerous accolades. The recipient of a Presidential Citation in 1995, she was also presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award from Jackson State University in 1975. Several years later, Dr. Green was inducted as a Lifetime Achievement member into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation in 2019.
