Previously, Dr. Ghahramani worked in various executive positions for companies such as Europa Telecommunications, General Dynamics and AT&T Bell Laboratories. He further flourished as an educator for a number of prestigious institutions, including Fairleigh Dickinson University, California State University, Fresno, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Missouri-Rolla, the Louisiana State University System and two executive education programs for the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Throughout his career, he has achieved much, developing a nuclear, biological and chemical warning system and a container security system for the government and an eye-depth perception system that revolutionized the field of ophthalmology. Additionally, Dr. Ghahramani holds 11 domestic and two international patents.
Driven to affect change, Dr. Ghahramani began his pursuit of knowledge with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and management from Oklahoma State University in 1971. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in industrial engineering from Texas Tech University in 1973, a Master of Business Administration in information systems from Louisiana State University in 1983, a Master of Science in applied mathematics from Southern University and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering Louisiana Tech University in 1984. For many years, Dr. Ghahramani has also maintained certifications in information security management, professional ergonomics and professional engineering.
Dr. Ghahramani remains aware of changes in numerous fields through his vast number of professional affiliations, including the International Foundation for Industrial Ergonomics and Safety Research, the National Safety Council and the Operations Research Society of America. He has also been associated with the Institute of Management Sciences, the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, to name a few. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Ghahramani has authored countless book chapters, articles, and books, including "A Telecommunications Model for Managing Complexity of Voice and Data Networks and Services," "An Optimization Model for Telecommunications Systems" and "Economic Evaluation of Advanced Technologies: Techniques and Case Studies."
In recognition of his professional excellence, Dr. Ghahramani has been honored many times, accepting an Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Missouri, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and General Motors Corporation. He was also presented with the Individual Innovation Award and a Team Award from the NPPD, and a Peer-to-Peer Recognition Award and FedScoop Innovation of the Year Award from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Professional publications such as Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Who's Who in the Media and Communications have also lauded Dr. Ghahramani for his extensive body of work.
